  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job, plus eight (8) years of related experience, three (3) years of which were in a supervisory capacity.
  • A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.

  • This Division Manager position will be over the newly formed Performance Management and Data Analytics Division.
  • The intent of the division is to have a cumulative impact of delivering better, faster, and smarter services. It will accomplish this by establishing a comprehensive, integrated performance management program that will include strategic planning, an innovation lab focused on streamlining processes and creating innovative tools to support these processes, drive data driven decision making, and help establish and sustain an environment and foundation for continuous process improvement.
  • Successful candidates will have a significant background, experience and track record of success of leading an enterprise-wide program that encompasses the key component areas of strategic planning, performance improvement, and reporting and data analytics.
  • This position will require a pre-employment Criminal Background Investigation (CBI).
  • If you are identified as a top candidate, verification of your education, which may include High School graduation or GED, undergraduate and/or graduate degrees, will be required.
  • Driving is considered an essential function of this position, and a valid Texas driver license and current driving record that meets the requirements of the City of Austin Driver Safety Program are required.
  • This position may require a skills assessment.
Pay Range

$41.26 – $54.56 per hour

Hours

Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM

Hours may vary depending on work demands and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years experience as the lead of an enterprise-wide level effort to develop, design, and sustain the internal infrastructure and foundation necessary to foster continuous improvement in the pursuit of meeting customer expectations and demands department by providing better, faster and smarter services.
  • Experience in developing, designing, and implementing a comprehensive and strategic approach in the pursuit of meeting customer expectations and demands through process improvement, data quality management and business analytics.
  • Experience in advising, developing and managing strategic plans, goals, objectives, and performance measures align with enterprise-wide and senior executive level priorities.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing a robust reporting system that serves as the central repository for department and program data and business analytics.
  • Experience in collaborating with executives, division managers and supervisors regarding strategic planning, performance management and measurement and data analytics.
  • Experience in developing methods for identifying and collecting program data and providing comprehensive reporting
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt or Master Blackbelt Certification
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

  1. Direct the programs, projects and activities of the division.
  2. Develop and manage division processes and procedures and ensure alignment with departmental goals. 
  3. Evaluate, develop, improve and promote the division Business Plan.
  4. Evaluate operational efficiency, and develop/implement improvement strategies. 
  5. Develop and monitor division budget. 
  6. Develop and implement short and long-range goals and objectives.
  7. Manage CIP program consultant/contractor contracts.
  8. Manage CIP project delivery. 
  9. Coordinate division actives with other division/departments.


Responsibilities- Supervision and/or Leadership Exercised:

 

  • Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.
